Vixen A62SS 4-element refractor and spotting scope
The Vixen A62SS is a real all-rounder. The refractor is one of the most versatile travel telescopes on the market. The areas of application are almost unlimited.

Astronomical telescope for observation:
The small refractor is an ideal beginner's telescope. The telescope is very easy to use and enables magnifications of up to 150 times. The image is rich in contrast, the color error is significantly reduced. For observation you need a zenith mirror or Amiciprisma and eyepieces. Compact astrograph for astrophotography:
The 4-element optics reduce the color error and level the image field. This allows you to attach your DSLR camera or astro camera directly to the telescope, focus it and immediately start astrophotography. With a focal length of 520 mm and an aperture ratio of f / 8.4, the exposure times are still limited. The telescope offers a T2 (M42x0.75) photo connection for easy adaptation of your camera.

Spotting scope for daytime observation:
With an Amiciprism and a good zoom eyepiece, the refractor becomes a powerful spotting scope for daytime observation. The practical carrying bag can hold the refractor and of course also accessories, so you have everything compact in your hand and always available. At the base you will find a 1/4 "and a 3/8" tripod thread. You can use your photo tripod.

Spotting scope for digiscopy:
The corrected image field and good contrast make the compact refractor the ideal spotting scope for digiscopy. Whether you take pictures with your DSLR or with a compact camera, the refractor offers very good sharpness, which is even superior to most spotting scopes. In the case of a camera without interchangeable lenses, you have to work with an intermediate lens (eyepiece), we will be happy to advise you.

The optics:
The four-lens optical design consists of a 2-element achromatic lens and a 2-element correction element in front of the focuser. The color error is significantly reduced by the correction element. In addition, the entire image field is given a better image leveling. With a focal length of 520 mm and an aperture ratio of f / 1: 8.4, the small Vixen Achromat is a very good all-rounder.

The focuser:
The Crayford focuser has a scale so that different focus points can be reproduced quickly. In addition, the focuser can be rotated, which makes alignment in astrophotography much easier. The pull-out offers an SC thread, a T2 thread and of course the classic 1.25 "plug connection with ring clamp.

The base plate of the refractor:
The Vixen A62SS refractor comes with a small, mounted Vixen dovetail adapter plate (prism rail). This fits into all prism clamps according to the Vixen standard. In addition, there are two threads for 1/4 "and 3/8" photo threads on the underside and thus the optics can be mounted on almost any photo tripod.
