We check diagonals on a perfectly aligned "reference telescope." For this purpose, we use the GMK collimator and an artificial star at high magnification.

Some diagonals can be adjusted using an existing adjustment mechanism. For example, the 2" diagonal from Explore Scientific.

If this collimation option isn't already available, almost all diagonals can be tilted by placing plates underneath them. The mirrors usually rest on a foam rubber surface or similar.
