 William Optics WO-Star 71 Gold AP 71/350 OTA apochromatic refractor

This apochromatic refractor, optimized for astrophotography, consists of four elements in three groups: 2-1-1 configuration. This unique design made of FPL-53 (Ohara) fluorite glass illuminates sensors with 45mm diagonal color-pure with point-shaped star images - ideal for full-frame cameras!

The 2.5 "pull-out with 1:10 reduction and 35 millimeter focusing path is provided with an M48 thread. This offers numerous connection options for cameras. For example, an SLR camera (DSLR) can be connected directly using a bayonet adapter with M48 thread Since the correction optics are already integrated in the optical system of the Star 71, there are no problems with the optical path lengths that you would otherwise have when using an external flattener.

The Apochromat Star 71 is ideally suited for the photography of large nebulae areas, such as rosette nebula or lagoon nebula (M8), as well as for large galaxies such as Andromeda (M31) or triangular galaxy (M33).

The Star 71 was developed for photography. Therefore, it is not supplied with a zenith mirror. It is also not possible to connect a normal 2 "zenith mirror, because the back focus of the Star 71 is not sufficient. So that the Star 71 can still be used visually, William Optics has developed a special zenith mirror, on which 1.25" as usual -Oculars can be plugged in.
