We have been distributing this mount for several years now and know it very well. Before shipment, the bearing clearance is set on each mount and each component is checked. Failure to adjust the bearings properly may overload the controllers.

iOptron Cube-A GoTo Mount
The iOptron SmartStar Cube-A Dual Mount is made for observers and photographers looking for a lightweight, transportable mount for observation AND astrophotography. The integrated polar height cradle allows simple azimuthal use for observation and parallactic use, which is important for longer exposure times in astrophotography.

You can use the mount anywhere in the world, both parallactic and azimuthal. This makes the Cube-A a real alternative to the sometimes very expensive travel mounts for astrophotography, such as the ASTROTRACK.

Powerful GoTo motors ensure accurate tracking and accurate positioning of objects in the night sky. The GoTo works in azimuthal and parallactic mode.

No matter if you book an astrophotography holiday in Namibia or just take a quick trip to the mountains - the Cube-A is a fast-paced companion. With the GP Level Prism Clamp, you can easily attach your camera with lens using the appropriate rails. The mount automatically moves to the sky region that you want to take pictures of and also tracks it with sufficient accuracy. The integrated pile height cradle allows longer exposure times. In an azimuthal mount, the stars in the edge area would be warped to lines after just a few seconds.

The innovative GoTo controller

The GoToNovaTM controller impresses with its particularly simple and intuitive operation. Even beginners will find their way around immediately and can visit and observe celestial objects successfully from the first night on. The data base of 130,000 objects contains all sensible goals in the solar system, all Messier, NGC and IC objects as well as a wealth of other interesting and worthwhile goals.

In addition to precise tracking, the control box also offers 9 different speeds that allow you to set the destination. From a faster speed for centering in the viewfinder to a fine adjustment for centering lunar craters or planets at high magnifications.

USB port

The control box has a USB interface. If the USB2COM driver is installed, the interface also works on RS232. Of course, the Cube-A is ASCOM compatible. You can control the mount with all popular Astro programs and of course always download the latest version from the net.

The robust stainless steel stand provides the necessary stability and is of course height adjustable.

GPS module

Each Kube-A mount comes with a 32 channel GPS module for optimal setup. The GPS module automatically provides the Goto controller with the exact location and time. You just need to calibrate the mount to a few stars and off you go.
