The image field rotator is very easy to use via ASCOM drivers or standalone software and makes astrophotography easier for you by automatically and precisely setting the desired camera orientation.
6 kg payload but only 0.7 kg weight M68 connectors avoid vignetting of large sensors Numerous adapters available for common threads Only requires 15.5mm back focus Support for Alt-AZ field derotation USB-C port: A single cable for power and data. Wi-Fi Ready: Hotspot and 2.4GHz wireless client support. Uses ASCOM and Indi sturdy aluminum housing
The Falcon Rotator v2 is a large aperture camera field rotator (M68) that impresses with its low weight and flat design. Despite its slim profile, it has the remarkable ability to handle and precisely position even heavy images. Operating the Falcon Rotator v2 is a breeze thanks to its compatibility with classic ASCOM, native ASCOM Alpaca drivers and Unity Platform software. This user-friendly design simplifies the process of automatically and precisely aligning your camera field, making your astrophotography efforts significantly more convenient and efficient.
[M68 thread on both sides and low profile]Both sides of the rotator have an M68 thread, so that even large sensors can be used without vignetting. The thickness of the rotator is only 15.5 mm and the weight is only 700 grams, but it can carry 6 kg of payload.
Adapter for both sides Adapters are available for many common threads, as shown in the images at the top of this page.
Precise rotation A powerful stepper motor with gear and low backlash ensures that the rotator engages at the intended degrees. High quality mechanical components inside the focuser prevent it from bending at any point during a full circle rotation.
High rated load The Falcon Rotator v2 was tested with 6 kg or 13 lbs imaging device. The mechanical design allows the internal bearing to be designed to handle high payloads with almost no flex.
One-cable operation The rotator can be connected with a USB-C cable for both power and data, reducing the complexity of your telescope setup. It is also Wi-Fi enabled so you can control your field rotation remotely from your mobile phone.
De-rotation support for Alt/Az mounts The rotator has the precision to fully support this. PegasusAstro will soon provide the necessary software for the de-rotation calculations. (under intensive testing under the stars)
ASCOM & INDI support The rotator is fully ASCOM6 supported. INDI support will follow at launch.
Standalone software Control the Falcon Rotator with the included Windows software.
