The Pegasus Ultimate Powerbox v2 (UPBv2 for short) is the successor of the well-known Ultimate Powerbox. 

A USB3.1 hub has been added - any USB port can be turned on and off - more power outputs, more dew heaters, a new stepper controller that can drive any stepper motor on the astronomy market, and an expansion port for future devices that will communicate with the UPBv2 controller!

The Ultimate Powerbox v2 comes with a new, redesigned enclosure.

The Ultimate Powerbox v2 is an advanced power control unit to replace multiple power supplies and eliminate the clutter of power and data cables. The unit can provide a high number of amps.

No cables interfere with the movement of the mount and equipment, only the main power cable and a USB data cable are connected to the Ultimate Powerbox, from which the other cables branch off to power all the equipment.

The controller is rated for a total current draw of up to 20 amps.

Please note that the Ultimate Powerbox v2 is not a power bank. It requires an external power source (battery or PSU) to receive power.

4 x 12V DC power ports for your devices.
Four powerful smart mosfet transistors provide "electric juice" to your valuable devices. Sophisticated short circuit and overload protection per port interrupts the power supply and reports the incident to our software. Each Mosfet is capable of delivering up to 7 amps of current.

Good quality metal output sockets ensure you get the juice you need and can safely connect your extension cords.


Built-in current sensors
An accurate voltmeter and ammeter (can measure up to 30A) measure and display your power consumption in real time. If the input voltage exceeds 14.5V, the power supply will be cut off immediately to protect your devices.


Individual power meter for each 12V outlet and dew point heater.
Each 12V outlet and each exchange protection channel has an internal and independent digital current meter. You can view the power consumption of each port in the software.

Memory persistence of the outputs at startups
You can easily specify which output (power or USB) should be turned on at startup. The setting is stored in the EEPROM memory of the system. A useful feature in case of power failure.


USB3.1 connectivity
The controller is always connected to the USB hub (7th internal USB port). No additional cable is needed. Just connect the USB hub to your laptop and you are ready to go.


Reverse Polarity Protection
The Ultimate Powerbox is equipped with reverse polarity protection. It will definitely save your night if you accidentally connect the power adapter in reverse polarity!


Watchdog
A hardware watchdog resets the unit if for some reason there is no response from the controller for two seconds. A useful feature in the unlikely event that the controller freezes - if you have a remote observatory and need to be sure everything is working as expected.


Upgradeable firmware
The firmware supports reprogramming via the USB connection using upgrade software (available for Windows only) for future upgrades that may become available. We receive constant feedback from our customers and are constantly updating the firmware and software with new features.


Compact size and light weight
A blue anodized aluminum housing of compact size encloses the control board.
The size is 12 cm x 10 cm x 3 cm (4.72 inches x 4.06 inches x 1.2 inches).
Weight is 400 grams (14.1 ounces).
