This standalone focusing motor has 0.0625° increments, 60 Ncm torque and low backlash, allowing you to focus your telescope quickly and accurately.

With the "FocusCube 2" you can focus your telescope quickly, reliably and precisely. The development of technology in astronomy requires a system that supports the focusing of the telescope with great accuracy. Fast optics and modern camera devices require automatic focusing in small periods of time as temperature can affect the focal length and change the optimal focus position. Pegasus FocusCube was designed to meet all of these requirements.

Constructed to a high quality with modern electronics, the FocusCube can offer digital, precise control of focusing by a PC. The device contains a stepper motor for focusing in absolute position. Electronics and stepper motor are housed in a compact housing. Don't let its size fool you! This device can easily lift more than 6kg of recording equipment when the telescope is pointed at the zenith!

This stepper motor is a high-resolution geared stepper motor (step angle 7.5 degrees, gear ratio 1:120, i.e. 0.0625° step angle on the shaft). Its gear has very low backlash and high torque, suitable for focusing in the micron range! You only need this device to focus! Attach the FocusCube to your refractor/reflector/SCT telescope, connect power, USB cable, download ASCOM drivers or standalone software and you're ready to go!

Important Notes:
FocusCube is a standalone device and includes controller functionality.
No physical hand box is included or required.
DO NOT pair it with the Dual Motor Focus Controller or any other controller available on the market.
DO NOT connect this RJ45 connector to the RJ45 stepper motor output of the Ultimate Powerbox.
The RJ45 port on the back is only intended for the hand box or the included temperature sensor.

High torque, high resolution stepper motor
The built-in unipolar stepper motor has a powerful and very low-backlash gear. The step angle of the motor is 7.5 degrees, but the 1:120 ratio reducer changes the step angle to 0.0625 degrees/step. Because the firmware implements a half-step drive, the motor can take twice as many steps per cycle. That means 11520 steps per cycle! Bottom line: You can focus in micrometers, easily and with great accuracy.

The motor can lift up to 6kg of recording equipment when the telescope is pointed at the zenith!

Temperature sensor
An input for an external digital temperature sensor is located near the motor connection. A digital sensor with a one meter cable length is included. The sensor can be placed near the focuser so that the exact temperature of the focuser/environment can be displayed via the included software or ASCOM driver (sensor is always included).
 
Expansion port / manual focusing (optional accessory)
FocusCube includes an RJ45 expansion port on the back of the case. This port provides an input for the temperature sensor. An optional hand control for manual focusing can be purchased if you wish to add this functionality.
 
ASCOM support
The controller is fully compatible with the latest ASCOM 6.4 version.
 
INDI (Open Astronomy Instrumentation) is supported
Pegasus Focuscube is fully compatible with INDI. The driver is included in the stable libindi.

Firmware upgrade support
The controller firmware supports reprogramming via the USB 2.0 port using upgrade software for future upgrades that may become available. Pegasus constantly receives feedback from its customers and constantly updates the firmware and software with new features.
