Geoptik Flatfield Mask Flatfield Generator 260mm
Product Description
Geoptik Flat Field Generator – The Generator for Perfect Astrophotography
Anyone involved in digital astrophotography will, sooner or later—and inevitably—stumble upon the term "flat field." When a "standard" CCD image is captured through a telescope, image defects invariably occur. Astrophotographers almost always have to contend with uneven illumination within the imaging optics, dust on the sensor chip, and internal reflections—all of which degrade image quality.
The Elegant Solution
With the Geoptik Flat Field Box, you are now able to eliminate these unsightly image defects. It can even compensate for variations in sensitivity between the individual pixels of the camera sensor.
Here’s How It Works...
The Geoptik Flat Field Generator is simply positioned in front of the telescope's aperture and switched on. The integrated flat-field screen generates a bright, absolutely uniformly illuminated surface—the ideal prerequisite for creating a flat-field image.
Advantages at a Glance:
Flat Field Generator is very easy to use
Uniformly illuminated surface for an optimal flat field
Housing constructed from durable plastic
Compact and practical, as the screen, lighting, and power source are all combined in a single device
Our Expert Commentary:
Only by using a flat field can "dust donuts" and vignetting be effectively eliminated. The Geoptik Flat Field Generator makes the DIY construction of a flat-field box completely unnecessary. The uniformly illuminated disc is simply placed over the front of the telescope tube, and the exposure is captured. Creating flat fields has never been this easy! (Bernd Gährken)
