ZWO ASI183MM color CMOS camera, uncooled
The ZWOptical ASI183MC has installed the modern SONY Exmor R BSI IMX183 color sensor. With about 20 million pixels, this camera is one of the big CMOS astro cameras. The resolution of the camera is sensational due to the pixel size of only 2.4 μm. This makes the ASI183 particularly interesting for sharp and bright telescopes and camera lenses.

One of the outstanding features of the ASI183 is its sensational photosensitivity. The QE of 84% by the BACK ILLUMINATION technology and the very low amplification annealing make the camera very well suited for all astronomical applications.

The "single-shot" color camera offers more comfort than monochrome cameras. Not everyone wants to go through the elaborate L-RGB process for beautiful colored fog shots or planetary shots. The color cameras offer you the opportunity to get beautiful shots without changing the filter. In direct comparison to the DSLR camera, the ASI183MC convinces with a much higher photosensitivity, a smoother picture and more depth. Stars do not burn out so fast.

Areas of application of the ASI183MC color CMOS camera:

♦ Impressive lunar and planetary imagery and videos. The high sensitivity allows a "freezing" of the air turbulence. Due to the small pixels, you can achieve a high resolution of the telescope without additional optical elements.
♦ Autoguiding is possible through the ST-4-level interface. Due to the high resolution, you can already track large telescopes with guide telescopes with a diameter of 50 mm or more. The camera weighs only 120 grams and hardly loads the focuser.
♦ High-quality deep-sky images with short exposure times are made possible by Sony's advanced sensor. After only a few seconds of exposure you will see stars and deep-sky objects that are not accessible to the naked eye through the telescope. The photosensitivity is much higher than with conventional DSLR, but also CCD cameras. On a follow-up control can be omitted.
