Products description

ZWO Color cooled Astro Camera ASI 183MC Pro Sensor D = 15.9mm

One of the most sensitive cooled astro cameras on the market with QE up to 84% and nearly 20 million pixels for all astronomical applications.
♦ Sensor SONY Exmor R BSI IMX183 sensor with 13,2 x 8,8 mm size, diagonal 15.9 mm - Color

♦ 5496 x 3672 pixels - 20.18 MP

♦ Very high resolution with 2.4 μm pixel size

♦ DDR memory buffer 256 MB - buffer for a more stable data transport - prevents amplifier annealing even with USB2.0 (characteristics of the new PRO versions)

♦ Improved enclosure with controlled cooling up to 45 ° C below ambient temperature without dew and icing problems even at higher humidity. Incl. Chamber for desiccant.

♦ Short download time through USB 3.0 - can also be used with USB 2.0

♦ AR protection filter installed - full passage also in the infrared

♦ Connectors: T2, 1.25 "and 2" available

♦ Extra screwed front panel ?? now the camera body can no longer be mistaken ?? be screwed on

♦ Extremely high sensitivity, the QE is up to 84%. After just a few seconds you have displayed weak galaxies and nebulae.

♦ USB2.0 connection for filter wheels, autoguider or USB focuser

♦ Extensive scope of delivery

ZWO ASI183MC Pro - cooled color CMOS camera for astrophotography
The refrigerated ZWOptical ASI183MC incorporates the modern SONY Exmor R BSI IMX183 color sensor. With about 20 million pixels, this camera is one of the big CMOS astro cameras. The resolution of the camera is sensational due to the pixel size of only 2.4 μm. This makes the ASI183 particularly interesting for sharp and bright telescopes and camera lenses.

One of the outstanding features of the ASI183 is its sensational photosensitivity. The QE of 84% through the BACK ILLUMINATION technology and the very low amplification annealing make the camera very well suited for all astronomical applications, but especially for deep-sky astrophotography.

The "single-shot" color camera offers more comfort than monochrome cameras. Not everyone wants to go through the elaborate L-RGB process for beautiful colored fog shots or planetary shots. The color cameras offer you the opportunity to get beautiful shots without changing the filter. In direct comparison to the DSLR camera, the ASI183MC convinces with a much higher photosensitivity, a smoother image and more depth. Stars do not burn out so fast.

Further advantages and product features of the ASI 183MC Pro Color Camera:

♦ USB 3.0 for a quick download - can also be operated with USB 2.0
♦ DDR memory buffer 256 MB for stable data transfer with USB2.0 - prevents amplifier glowing.
♦ Powerful Peltier cooling up to 45 ° C under ambient conditions
♦ One of the most sensitive 15.9mm diameter CMOS sensors in the world - 20 megapixels
♦ High resolution with 2.4 μm pixels - ideal for high-speed and sharp telescopes, such as Apos, Hyperstar, Celestron Faststar, high-intensity Newton telescopes ...
♦ Supplied with AR clear glass filter - full passage also in the infrared. If the IR is to be blocked, an IR cut filter is needed.
♦ Distance T2 connection thread (internal thread) to the camera sensor: 17.5 mm
♦ High sensitivity - QE over 84% - ideal astronomy camera for faint objects
♦ 12-bit ADC

Application areas of the camera:

♦ Deep Sky images (nebulae and galaxies): Due to the high sensitivity, nebulae and galaxies are imaged after only a few seconds. The camera can be cooled to up to 45 ° C under ambient conditions. As a result, the already low noise is further reduced. By raising the GAIN (Comparable to the ISO setting for digital SLR cameras), you can reduce exposure times to less than 30 seconds. Effects due to air turbulence or inaccuracies of tracking are thus switched off.

♦ Moon and planetary images: Extremely short exposure times due to high sensitivity freeze the air turbulence. Due to the high resolution of the sensor many details can be reproduced even with a shorter telescope focal length. Video astronomy is also possible.

Optimal support before and after your purchase
We work with the cameras ourselves and can offer you optimal advice. Which camera fits your telescope, how do you achieve the optimal adaptation? We also offer the best possible service after the purchase.
