Products description

ZWO ASI462MM USB3.0 SW astro camera - sensor D=6.46 mm, high QE, 2.9 µm pixels
Powerful monochrome astro camera with a very fast Sony 2.1 megapixel sensor - with autoguiding connection
♦ Strong black and white camera for lunar and planetary photography and for deep sky photography

♦ Very sensitive to infrared - helps to suppress air turbulence

♦ Resolution 2.1 MP - 1936 x 1096 PX

♦ Pixel size 2.9 µm

♦ Sensor: 1/2.8" CMOS IMX462 with very high quantum efficiency (sensitivity) and low readout noise

♦ Including 2.1 mm Allsky lens for spectacular overview shots - with T2 connection thread

♦ Maximum 136.1 fps (frames per second) at full resolution

♦ Short download times thanks to USB 3.0

♦ Extremely compact - only 62 mm x 36 mm

♦ Autoguiding connector (ST-4)

♦ AR protection filter built in - full transmission even in the infrared

ZWO ASI462MM USB 3.0 black and white astro camera with 2.1 MP CMOS sensor and 2.9 µm pixels
The ASI462MM is ZWO's latest black and white planetary camera that uses the 12-bit Sony IMX462 ADC sensor in 1/2.8" format. The pixel size of 2.9 µm enables a depth of 11.2 ke- mit a total of 2.1 megapixels.

The camera is particularly powerful in the infrared range. With high sensitivity, extremely low read noise and very fast frame rate, this camera will offer great performance for planetary, lunar and solar photography.

Like the other cameras, the ASI462MM also impresses with its versatile application options, such as:

♦ Planetary photography - here the extremely high frame rates help with data acquisition for stacking, while IR luminance recording reduces the influence of air turbulence with every frame
♦ Lunar Photography - the properties valued in planetary photography are also useful when photographing details on the moon
♦ Sun photography (with proper filtering!) - the high frame rate reduces the influence of air turbulence
♦ Deep sky photography (the camera is uncooled, but the CMOS sensor offers good noise performance)
♦ Autoguiding camera
♦ Thanks to oaCapture, the camera can also be used with a Mac.

Comparison ASI462MM to ASI290MM:
In general, ASI462MM and ASI290MM have very similar parameters, but ASI462MM has lower read noise and higher QE value.

In particular, however, the quantum efficiency in the infrared around 850 nm is approx. 66% higher than with the ASI290MM, which makes it ideal for IR luminance recordings to suppress air turbulence.

Properties and advantages of the ZWO ASI462MM camera:

♦ Universally applicable
♦ Simple adaptation with T2 thread connection
♦ Resolution: 1936*1096 pixels
♦ 136.1 frames per second at 10 bit ADC (full resolution)
♦ Long exposure up to 2000 seconds possible
♦ Autoguider connector
♦ Extremely low read noise with very high sensitivity, especially in the infrared range
♦ Aluminum housing with 2" and T2 connection
♦ With 2.1mm all-sky wide-angle lens
♦ Supplied with AR clear glass filter - full transmission even in the infrared. If the IR is to be blocked, an IR cut filter is required.
