ALCCD-QHY PoleMaster - Electronic Polar Finder

The ALccd-QHY PoleMaster is a new, electronic celestial pole alignment aid for virtually any astronomical mount. With the PoleMaster, you don't need a polar finder scope; the image is created via a small lens, electronics with a light-sensitive CMOS sensor, and intelligent software. The view of the polar region must be clear for the alignment procedure.

The ALccd-QHY PoleMaster was adapted to a Skywatcher NEQ6 mount for testing, and calibration was performed. Immediately afterward, the automatic guiding correction was interrupted in both axes to record the deviation over a period of 10 minutes. Within 30 minutes, the deviation in declination was only 1.5". This translates to a maximum alignment error of 18". This is a truly impressive and very good value for such a small tool!
