NexStar Evo/SE Polar Wedge

This "small" polar wedge for the entire NexStar Evolution series and NexStar 6/8 SE mounts transforms the popular single-arm mounts into mobile platforms for astrophotography.
The NexStar SE 6" and 8" telescopes, and especially the NexStar Evolution 6", 8", and 9.25" telescopes, are generally suitable for astrophotography with longer exposure times. In azimuthal mode, tracking is achieved by movement in both axes, which is not a problem for visual observation. However, in astrophotography, a field rotation becomes noticeable after just one minute of exposure time, initially distorting the stars at the edge of the field into lines.

The polar wedge eliminates this problem. It aligns the telescope's azimuth axis with the celestial pole, allowing tracking to be performed solely with the azimuth motor (there is an adjustment option in the hand controller), eliminating the need for field rotation. The wedge can be used worldwide; the tilt angle and azimuth alignment can be easily and precisely adjusted by hand thanks to the fine adjustment screws with large adjustment knobs.

The weight is as low as possible at 7.5 kg, keeping everything light and portable, yet it still offers A stable base for deep-sky astrophotography. The telescope can be easily mounted on the wedge without tools by one person. First, attach one screw to the base and then hook it into the wedge. Then, simply tighten the other two screws, which are already pre-installed in the wedge.
