If you want to place a device on the Porta mount and attach importance to the correct orientation of the device, then the multi-plate is the right choice.

Spotting scopes with a 45° or 90° upward viewing angle should be mounted on the Porta with this plate.

The multi-plate fits into the quick coupling of the Porta mount and offers a universal support plate with 1/4” photo tripod connections. Of course, the multi-plate also fits other mounts with the familiar quick coupling.
