Rowan Engineering timing belt upgrade set for Skywatcher HEQ5 - reduces tracking errors

The standard spur gears are replaced by toothed belts.

This set replaces the standard spur gears with toothed belts. The tension pulley reduces tracking and reversal errors and almost eliminates the familiar grinding noises.

The gear ratio is unchanged; this means that no intervention in the hand control software is necessary. All SynScan functions can still be used.

A 6 mm wide timing belt is used; this means that, unlike similar products, no cuts in the mount housing are necessary. The pulleys are specially manufactured for the EQ6; no standard parts are subsequently adapted for this set.
