♦ Fits for the equatorial mount EQ2 from Skywatcher
♦ Tracks on the Right Ascension axis
♦ The stars stay in the eyepiece, you observe more relaxed
♦ The speed can be increased or decreased temporarily
♦ Also usable on the southern hemisphere (vacation)
This drive set can be attached to the R.A. axis of the EQ2 mount and any Sky-Watcher telescope that has been supplied with it.
The set allows motorized tracking and movement at 1x, 2x and 8x speed in the right ascension axis. Stars, moon and planets stay centered by this, so you can observe longer without the object running out of the field of view. All that´s need to be done before is a polar alignment of the mount.
Perfect tracking through stepper motors
The tracking speed is kept precisely by a quartz-controlled stepper motor, without the need for manual fine adjustment. However, you have the ability to change the speed to position an object in the eyepiece.
Astrophotography
The accurate tracking and the ability to change the speed via the hand controller allow astrophotography with the EQ2 mount. Moon and planets can be captured with telescope and digital camera, while nebulae, star clusters and galaxies can be photographed with a lens up to 75 mm focal length.
Power supply
The motor is powered by four standard 1.5 V batteries ("D" cells, LR20).
Alternatively, you can also connect a power supply or a 6 V lead accumulator to the power input socket, but be sure to use the correct voltage and polarity!
