The so-called “double stacking” reduces the half-width in H-Alpha systems. With a narrower half-width, the contrast on the sun's surface is drastically increased, making significantly more details visible.

Double stacking is also possible with the LS40THa telescopes, reducing the half-width to just <0.55 angstrom. For this purpose, Lunt Solar Systems has specially designed this LS40FHa double-stack filter in a compact housing. The filter can be screwed directly onto the LS40THa telescopes.
