The BRESSER Messier EXOS 100 GOTO Mount is a complete German equatorial mount for telescopes and cameras. As a GoTo mount, it automatically finds celestial objects and positions the telescope accordingly. It is controlled via a hand controller with display and keypad. With a payload capacity of up to 5 kg, it is suitable for both visual observations and astrophotography.

Stable setup for telescope and camera

A holder for Vixen-style dovetail plates securely accommodates telescopes or cameras. The stainless steel tripod with height-adjustable legs can be adapted to the respective observing site. A counterweight weighing 2 kg balances the weight of the telescope. A battery compartment for eight C batteries powers the mount independently of a fixed mains socket.

Polar alignment made easy

An integrated circular bubble level indicates the exact horizontal position of the tripod. An integrated polar finder tunnel enables rough alignment with the celestial north pole. The setting can then be further improved using fine adjustment screws for polar altitude and azimuth. For particularly accurate polar alignment, an optional polar finder scope (Art. No. 0456103) is available. This allows the GoTo function, tracking and astrophotography to work even more precisely.

Automatic object search with the hand controller

The display and keypad of the hand controller form the central control interface of the mount. For initialisation, you perform a star alignment with one, two or three stars. In doing so, you centre the suggested stars in the eyepiece and confirm the position. After successful alignment, more than 100,000 stored objects are available to choose from, which you can conveniently slew to at the touch of a button. These include planets, constellations as well as Messier, NGC, IC, Sh2 and SAO objects. You can also save your own celestial coordinates and slew to them precisely.

Precise tracking for long nights of observation

The tracking automatically keeps an object that has been slewed to in the field of view. You can choose between sidereal, solar and lunar rates to suit the respective observing target. Eight different slew speeds are available for manual positioning. A low-noise belt drive with worm gear moves both axes smoothly. Via synchronisation, the mount aligns the position of a known object with the database. The additional RA and DEC backlash compensation calibrates the gear backlash of both axes, ensuring even greater precision.

Computer control via USB-C and ASCOM

Via a USB-C interface, you can also connect the hand controller to a computer. This allows you to control the mount using ASCOM-compatible programs such as Stellarium or N.I.N.A..

With polar alignment, automatic object search and a stable setup, the mount covers the most important requirements for observation and astrophotography. As a compact GoTo mount, it reliably guides you to tens of thousands of celestial objects.
