The AM7 is ZWO's most powerful mount, featuring an industry-standard strain wave gear. This makes the mount exceptionally compact yet very robust. It can support 20 kilograms without counterweights, making it ideal for mobile astrophotography. For stationary use, optional counterweights can be added, increasing the payload capacity to 30 kilograms.

Stepper motors with toothed belts are used in the drive gears of both axes. This results in a periodic error of less than 10 arcseconds, with no backlash (gear play when changing the direction of movement). The AM7 is exceptionally smooth-running. Each mount is individually measured and shipped with a PE test report.

The AM7 supports both equatorial mode for astrophotography and altazimuth mode for visual observation and, thanks to its 0° to 90° altitude adjustment, can be used worldwide.

The mount saddle allows the use of dovetail rails according to the Vixen or Losmandy standard. This makes it possible to mount almost any telescope.

Power supply: DC 12 volts, 3 amps minimum, connector: D5.5x2.1mm, center positive

ZWO stands for wireless networking of all key components: Smart Astrophotography! The mount is equipped with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi for this purpose. The AM7 can thus be controlled wirelessly with the Sky Atlas app for iOS or Android or connected wirelessly to the ZWO ASIAIR computer.

For those who prefer: The mount can also be operated without a smartphone using the hand controller.
