Colli stands for the abbreviation: collimation or collimation. The word collimation means to align or adjust in the broadest sense. Newtonian reflecting telescopes are generally considered to be prone to decollimation. And they are - at least if they are frequently transported to dark observation sites in the trunk of a car. If you are one of those observers, your Laser Colli™ should be part of the telescope's basic accessory. With a little practice and a little prep work, the telescope will be cleanly re-collimated in a minute or two.

The method used is that a reflecting telescope is properly collimated when the laser beam - coming from the focuser - is reflected into itself.

The prerequisite for the Laser Colli to work reliably is, of course, that the laser beam exits through the socket exactly in the middle. In addition, the actual laser in the housing can be adjusted rotationally symmetrically over 6 points (this adjustment is carried out by us in-house). The six small Allen screws are used to adjust the laser - so please do not adjust them, otherwise the laser will immediately tilt in the housing.

What distinguishes our laser adjuster from the many competitors?

The real "clou" of our Laser Colli™ is its special, etched reticle and this distinguishes it from all other laser collimators available on the market.

On the one hand, it serves to make the reflected laser light point more visible. If there were only a simple glass plate at this point, the point of light would hardly be visible.

On the other hand, the reticle allows - in the event of a strong misalignment of the system (in this case the laser light point would not hit the glass plate at all) - the possibility of looking through the glass plate into the tube from behind to see in which direction the beam roughly reflects becomes. At some point on the tube wall of the focuser, a grazing reflection will then become visible.
