Reduction from 2"to 1.25" - many additional features (2408190 # 15)The adapter primarily allows the use of 1.25" accessory to 2" sockets (2" extensions or adapters) and is used when very heavy 1.25" accessories are to be clamped very precisely, e.g. Photo adaptations or binocular approaches.
Two large knurled screws fix the accessories solidly over a brass clamping ring.
Especially many additional functions by auxiliary thread:Adaptation of T2 accessories on the telescope sideThe adapter has a T2 internal thread on the telescope side. This allows you to use extensive adaptations. Very popular is, for example, the use of the Alan Gee - Tele compressor, which you can fix with an auxiliary ring on the T2 thread. But Baader's glass path proofers can also be fixed using the M34 thread. Thus, the adapter is either a reduction or a converter with 2" connection.
Construction of an eyepiece projection adapter:The reducer has an attached T2 thread on the eyepiece side. This auxiliary thread is covered with a ring for protection. Screw the ring down and just put a T2 extension ring on it, which will pick up the eyepiece body. Then you can attach your SLR camera via a T2 ring or a CCD camera via the webcam adapter. The result is a particularly massive and accurate projection adapter.
These are just two of the many possible functions that are possible thanks to the ingenious auxiliary thread.
