Modern cameras are typically characterized by extremely short optical heights to allow for compact mounting on various telescope designs. The older T-2 standard with its 5 mm thread depth is insufficient for this purpose. To accommodate this new development, all new Baader T-2 and M48 parts are supplied with the new 3 mm standard.
