In addition to many mechanical advantages, the Protective T-Ring for Canon EOS DSLR cameras offers a real solution to the problem. It can accommodate mounted 2" filters and unmounted 50.4mm filters, making it possible to place a filter in front of the camera without losing the optical path.

The advantages and areas of application of the Baader Protective T-Ring:

The Baader Protective T-Ring is a real alternative to the normal camera conversion with a replacement filter. Just have the original Canon EOS IR cut filter removed. We offer this service. Art. No. DSLR ConversionOF.

Instead of the filter position directly in front of the chip, the IR blocking filter is integrated into the protective T-ring. You can also use the effective Baader UHC nebula filter instead of the IR blocking filter.

Another advantage compared to clip filters is the simpler integration into the system. You can also work with full-frame cameras from the EOS series, for example, without changing the filter - with full illumination.

5. Insertion ring M48/T2 - reduces the connection thread on the telescope side from M48 to T2
6. Receptacle S52/2" - enables direct connection to 2" receptacles

Application example:


The Baader Protective T-Ring with built-in Baader UHC-S nebula filter and T2 connector. This allows you to use the contrast-enhancing effect of the nebula filter on telephoto lenses, wide-angle lenses, but also on telescopes, without losing the optical path. This is practical if you use correctors or reducers and only have a small amount of space.
