Products description
TS Optics Optics 2" CCD 0.67x Reducer for RC & Flatfield Telescopes up to f/8
The 2" CCD reduces the focal length of telescopes to 0.67-fold, enabling significantly shorter exposure times.
♦ The focal length reducer is optimally suited for RC telescopes. It also works well with Celestron EHD or Meade ACF telescopes or with refractors up to the aperture ratio f/9
♦ The field of view of DSLR cameras up to APS-C format is illuminated - full illumination up to 29 mm
♦ Easy connection to the telescope via 2" socket
♦ Optimum working distance from the M48x0.75 connection thread to the camera sensor is 85mm - enough space for accessories such as off-axis guiders or filter wheels
♦ 2" filter thread on the telescopic side is available
TS Optics CCD Tele Compressor for Ritchey Chrétien and other f/18 to f/8 telescopes
The TS Tele Compressor CCD47 has been developed to reduce the focal length of RC (Ritchey-Chrétien) telescopes. Practical tests, however, have shown that they are perfectly suitable for all telescopes with a flat field of view, such as Apos with built-in corrector in the tube, Celestron EHD or Meade ACF telescopes, so for most of flat-field telescopes. But we especially recommend the compressor for the GSO / TS Optics / AstroTec Ritchey Chrétien telescopes.
The features of the CCD47 telecom compressor:
♦ Insertion diameter is 2" - easy adaptation to all focuser with 2" socket
♦ With filter screw-in thread for 2" filters on the telescope side
♦ Connecting the camera via the M48x0.75 thread
♦ Optimum working distance from the connection thread: 85 mm to the camera sensor. Between 70-90 mm, the results are very good.
♦ Shortening factor is 0.67x - from a RC with f/8, f/5 becomes bright. From a telescope with f/10 still f/6.7. The exposure time is more than halved!
♦ An illuminated 29mm field of view allows the use of all camera sensors up to the APS-C format.
Adapter recommendations:
Due to the long working distance, the adaptation of all commercially available cameras, whether CCD or DSLR, succeeds without problems. Here are some examples:
♦ DSLR camera - Adaptation via M48: TSVF230 and then the matching adapter from M48 to the camera. For example, SKM48-EOS on Canon EOS
♦ T2-threaded CCD cameras: Two adapters can reduce the M48 connector thread to T2:
TSFA2 - Adapter to T2 with a length of 38.2mm. This is used if you want to bridge the optical path.
TSM48-T2 - The adapter is short construction, with only 3.5mm length. This is used if you want to use accessories such as off-axis guiders and filter wheels.
Insertion diameter: 2"
Filter thread: 2" filter thread on the telescopic side
Camera side connection: M48x0.75 external thread
Working distance: Between 70-90 mm - optimum results are achieved by 85mm
Velocity factor: 0.67x
Free opening: 44mm
Compensation: Best possible compensation - does not guarantee reflexes or ghosting
Illumination at f/8: D = 29 mm full illumination
