The TS Refractor Corrector for Astrophotography is superior to most flatteners and focal reducers. It usually offers finer stars than other correctors on the axis and in the field and works usually even better than the correctors, which are recommended by the manufacturer for their refractors. You can insert the corrector on all refractor telescopes with 2" connection.
Better illumination - no more restriction with a T2 thread. We use the M48 connection thread, which provides maximum passage for 2". You will no longer have image darkening in the peripheral areas.Alumination and correction up to 40mm (depending on the type of telescope) are possible.
Generous Back Focus from 108mm - In contrast to most basal lenses, which offer only 55mm from the T2 port, 108mm are available here. (Deviations: see below.) This gives you enough space for off-axis guiders or filter wheels. Of course we offer all suitable adapters.
The adaptation of the corrector to the telescope:
The corrector is in a housing with exactly 2" outer diameter, it fits in every 2" plug of the focuser and can be clamped normally. We have deliberately renounced a safety groove because it often causes tilting.
The adaptation of the camera and accessories:
Due to the generous distance from the M48 connection thread to the focus position, you can easily adapt all accessories such as filter wheels, Off Axis Guider .... The corrector allows over or underruns of the optimal distance of up to 2mm without visible deterioration in the field.
You have two options for adaptation:
1. With the article TSFLAT2A we take over the complete adaptation for you. We only need from you:
- the connection thread and the distance from the connection thread to the camera sensor
- and which refractor you are using.
You then will receive the optimized adapter package from us. It is the pure adaptation of the TSFLAT2 to your camera. Filter wheel, Off Axis Guider ... are not included, but can be integrated.
2 You create your own adaptation
Basically:
- The shorter the focal length, the longer the distance must be to compensate for the greater field curvature.
- The longer the focal length, the shorter the distance must be because the field curvature is weaker.
To determine the correct distance, the telescope focal length is important:
- Focal length < 450mm: 128mm
- Focal length 450-490mm: 123mm
- Focal length 500-550mm: 118mm
- Focal length 560-590mm: 116mm
- Focal length 600-690mm: 113mm
- Focal length 700-800mm: 111mm
- Focal length > 800mm: 108mm
The technical data of the TSFLAT2 corrector:
- Corrector with blackened lens edges - multi-coated
- No change in focal length
- Housing has 2" diameter - suitable for 2" connection
- Connecting thread on the telescope side: M48 filter thread inside
- Connection thread on the camera side: M48 filter thread outside
- Free opening 45mm (much larger than possible with conventional T2 adaptations)
