Design
Vixen Coma Corrector PH for R200SS f/4 Newtonian Telescope
Designed for Vixen´s R200SS Newtonian reflector telescope the Coma Corrector PH employs a Wynne-type 3-element in 3-group optical design to correct and virtually eliminate coma aberration from the OTA´s primary parabolic mirror surface. The corrector delivers sharp pinpoint star images across the entire field of view - all the way to the edge.
It has a 0.95x magnification and reduces the R200SS effective focal length to 760 mm to give it a faster f/3.8 focal ratio. Threads on the housing are designed for user-supplied camera-specific T-rings for astrophotography, and its 44 mm diameter circle is designed to cover a 36 mm x 24 mm full frame DSLRs.
A large 50 mm aperture lens allows for ample edge-of-field illumination. The same AS anti-reflective optical coatings limit light loss and deliver high light transmission for improved image brightness. Light loss and "ghost flare" in images are further corrected due to the complete matte finish inside the corrector.
Attaching your Camera to the Corrector:
♦ You can use the T-thread adapter which is supplied with R200SS. Than you need a standard T-Ring and you can connect your camera. From The T2 thread of the Adapter the right working distance to the sensor is 55mm.
♦ with the Wide-Photo-Adapter Art. VI3878 you also can connect a DSLR. The advantage of this solution is a better illumination, if you want to use a full size sensor DSLR camera.
