The following filters are included in Set 4:

Explore Scientific Color Filter "Green" (1.25") No.56 - 0310262
The green filter greatly increases the contrasts between the red and blue regions of the cloud structures on the gas planets Jupiter and Saturn. On the Earth's moon, contrasts are more apparent in the radiating craters.

Explore Scientific Color Filter "Dark Blue" (1.25") No.38A - 0310263
The color dark blue supports the observation of high cloudiness on Mars. The contrast is increased. The dark reddish structures are shown darker and therefore this is the perfect filter for observing the big red spot on the gas planets Jupiter. The ring of Saturn is highlighted, the structures of the Venus atmosphere become finer. Good to use from 10" aperture.

Explore Scientific Color Filter "Orange" (1.25") No. 21 - 0310273
Supports the detection of the dark areas on the planet Mars. Also, the filter shows much more detail in the cloud bands of Saturn and Jupiter.

Explore Scientific Color Filter "Light Yellow" (1.25") No.8 - 0310268
When observing from the lunar surface, the contrast is increased enormously. Likewise with the planet Mars. On the giant planet Jupiter, the contrast between the individual cloud bands is increased considerably, so that more and more becomes visible. From about 8" telescope diameter and very good viewing conditions even some details on Saturn can be seen.

What is the purpose of color filters? Do you need color filters at all?
The color filter darkens a little bit the light which arrives at the eye or at the sensor of the camera. Among other things, this eliminates overexposure. They make the image more contrasty and some details become visible.
