Dew cap DX for C6 and C8

The Dew Cap DX from Celestron is an essential accessory to protect your telescope from dew. The dew first settles on the Schmidt plate in Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes. The dew cap also prevents stray light from entering the telescope to enable better contrast during observation and astrophotography. The Dew Cap DX fits all 6" and 8" Schmidt Cassegrain, EdgeHD and RASA (with single dovetail).
Construction

The Dew Cap DX offers a perfect, tailor-made fit, specially designed for 6" and 8" Celestron tubes. The dew cap is made from durable PE plastic that is flexible and sturdy. Additional padding has been added to the edge of the tube mount for a stronger grip on the telescope. The felt-lined interior absorbs additional stray light and excess moisture, creating optimal contrast when viewing and photographing.

The large dovetail cutout has been made wider to accommodate a 4" wide dovetail rail - at the same time it has been made deeper to create a more solid connection with the optical tube. Attaching the dew cap to the telescope is easy thanks to the Velcro attachment points. Whether your optical tube is 6" or 8", simply adjust the Velcro for the correct fit.

Transport and storage

The dew caps can be spread out flat for transport and therefore take up almost no space.
