Temperature Probe for Smart Power and Dew Control

With the Celestron Thermistor (Temperature Probe) for Smart Power and Dew Control, you no longer have to experiment with third-party heating tapes or belts to increase energy efficiency.

This accessory allows you to use the Smart Power and Dew Control (sold separately: Smart Power and Dew Control 2X (#825922, € 409,-) or Smart Power and Dew Control 4X (#825924, € 699,-) ) to deliver just the right amount of heat to the telescope's optics to prevent dew formation without wasting power. The 1.8m cable length allows for a variety of configurations.

How does it work?

Connect the heater strip to your telescope and place the sealed probe tip of the temperature probe under the heater strip. Plug each cable into the corresponding port on the dew control heater strip.

NOTE: This temperature probe is not needed if you are using a Celestron dew protection heater ring ( Dew protection heater rings for 5", 6", 8", 9.25", 11" and 14" (various versions / variants available) ) as the ring already includes a built-in temperature probe.
Expand your setup

We also recommend adding a dew cap to your setup. While not essential, it will reduce the energy required by the heater to keep the optics clear.
