Consisting of: Eyepieces Classic Ortho 6,10,18 mm / Plössl 32mm (incl. 4 eyecups with foldable side light aperture), 2.25x Q-Barlow, quadruple eyepiece turret (Q-Turret), Baader-Astro Box # 1 (M31)
The eyepieces offer a pure white image with exceptional sharpness and contrast, 50 ° field of view, sharp field diaphragms, parfocal, real high transmission (HT) and multiple coating on all air-glass surfaces
Maximum ease of use and (in combination with the Barlow lens) a wide range of magnifications in one set: 2.7mm, 4.6mm, 6mm, 8mm, 14mm, 18mm, 32mm
Baader Q-Turret eyepiece set - named "Hot Product" of 2014 by Sky & Telescope magazine

The Baader Q-Turret eyepiece turret set
This set of eyepiece turret, four 1.25-inch eyepieces, Barlow lens and storage box combines four high-quality fixed focal length eyepieces with the convenience of zoom eyepieces. At the same time, it is also an excellent alternative to the inexpensive eyepiece cases that are offered with many telescopes. With this eyepiece set you can choose between four magnifications with one turn. When not in use, the eyepieces and revolvers can be removed from the telescope in one piece and stowed in the padded metal box. This keeps your observation area tidy and you do not need any additional storage space.

The four eyepieces are graduated in such a way that they provide useful magnifications on most telescopes; the associated Barlow fills in the blanks without providing double magnifications. The 32mm Plössl eyepiece shows the largest possible field of view that can be achieved with 1.25 "eyepieces, and the three orthoscopic eyepieces provide high-contrast images even at high magnifications.

The Q-Turret can also serve as a focusing and locating aid for planetary cameras - replace an eyepiece with your camera and quickly switch between the locating eyepiece and the camera. The illustration shows a C8 with special equipment.

The Q-Barlow lens can be screwed out of the eyepiece adapter

Without the housing body, the Barlow lens can be screwed into the eyepiece turret (for 2.25x magnification) or directly into an eyepiece (for 1.3x magnification)

The alternative to common eyepiece cases

Eyepiece cases containing various inexpensive eyepieces, a Barlow lens and a set of color filters are recommended for many entry-level telescopes. These sets may be enough for a first look at the stars, but will be replaced very soon if you stay with your hobby. Cheap eyepieces only have a simple remuneration, so sharpness and contrast suffer. A Barlow lens also has to meet high optical standards, as it should ultimately achieve the highest possible magnification. With simple Barlow lenses, the picture only becomes flat and mushy. Often they also provide magnifications that can already be achieved with other eyepieces in the set. The color filters that come with many eyepiece sets are usually of poor quality. Without high quality compensation and optical quality, the picture suffers and no additional details become visible on the planet.

Don't forget that the eyepiece is half the way: without a good eyepiece, the best telescope is useless.

The philosophy behind the Q-Turret eyepiece set
The set was put together as a sensible alternative to the cheap eyepiece sets. Instead of quantity in the form of senseless accessories, it focuses on quality in the form of selected, high-quality parts. All parts are also available separately. The eyepieces are manufactured in German quality standard and with German quality control. They upgrade entry-level telescopes and also fit expensive telescopes.

The components of the Q-Turret set
Because of their high definition, orthoscopic eyepieces are ideal for planetary observation, which most beginners start with. With a 50 ° field of view, deep sky observation is also fun, which also benefits from the high-contrast image. The conical housing allows a pleasant view, and the eyepieces are also suitable for glasses wearers. The eyepieces have a conical housing for easy viewing and a removable, foldable eyecup.

The same type of glass and the same optical design as for the former orthoscopic Zeiss Jena eyepieces are used for the eyepieces.

The 32mm Plössl eyepiece is the perfect overview eyepiece for telescopes with a 1.25 "focuser; eyepieces with a longer focal length do not offer a larger field of view.

The focal lengths 32mm, 18mm, 10mm and 6mm are available.

All eyepieces have a HT-MC coating (High Transmission Multi-Coating) and blackened lens edges for very high-contrast images without reflections.

The high-quality 2.25x Barlow made of special glasses has the rare extension factor of 2.25x. This means that there are no double focal lengths with the eyepieces of the set, and if later planetary photography with a web or video camera is planned, you will achieve a higher magnification than with normal 2x Barlow lenses and can make better use of the resolution of the camera. The Barlow can either be screwed into the eyepiece turret or combined with all 1.25 "eyepieces using the special adapter. This results in the following focal lengths on the eyepiece turret: 2.7mm, 4.5mm, 8mm and 14mm

Alternatively, it can also be screwed directly into an eyepiece and then increases the focal length by a factor of 1.3.

Each eyepiece is equipped with a volcano top view and foldable side light aperture.

The set consists of eyepiece turret, eyepieces, Barlow and metal box
The eyepiece revolver enables quick switching between the different eyepieces or an optional camera for planetary photography. It fits most refractors and Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes as well as many Newtonian mirror telescopes. The light but robust plastic housing means that even simple eyepiece extensions are not overloaded. The screw threads are made of metal.

In the practical metal box you can stow the eyepiece revolver without having to remove the eyepieces. The set is immediately ready for use, on the other hand it will be stored in the padded box to save space. No space is wasted by a voluminous but half-empty suitcase.

Color filters, on the other hand, have been deliberately avoided - high-quality filters cannot be manufactured cheaply, and they only help to highlight weak details more clearly. They cannot work miracles and are more suitable for ambitious planet observers than for beginners or the occasional view of planets. Here it is better to only buy the filters that you really need - and then not to save on quality
