The new 3mm eyepiece of the 52 ° LER series extends the Explore Scientific product line of argon-filled and waterproof eyepieces with a very short focal length. As a practical companion for compact and short focal length telescopes such as the ED APO 80mm f / 6, this eyepiece already produces a 160x magnification, which, with good air calm (seeing) on ​​planets and moon, enables a very high resolution of the surface details and is also very suitable for separating double stars. With telescopes with longer focal lengths such as the ED APO 152 at f / 8, 405 times magnification is achieved without the use of a focal extender or Barlow lens for the nights with almost perfect seeing with a very comfortable eye relief of 15 mm.
