How we adjust: About us
GSD250C GSO Dobson 250 / 1250mm 2 "Crayford
GSO Dobson GSD 250C - 10 "Dobson ... opening 250mm / focal length 1250mm ... an excellent Dobson with diffraction-limited optics and 94% forced mirroring
GSD250C GSO Dobson 250 / 1250mm 2 inch Crayford Dobson telescopes from GSO (Guan Sheng Optics) offer an optimal viewing experience because optics and mechanics are right.
Very good diffraction-limited optics ... GSO produces excellent mirrors with excellent image quality. They can reach the full resolution, with appropriate atmospheric conditions.
Very good eyepiece ... No cheap tooth and drive, but a high-quality ball-bearing extension (Crayford) is used. Even at the highest magnifications, a precise focusing is possible without problems. The extension is suitable for 2 "and for 1.25" eyepieces.
Solid mechanics ... The metal tube provides a very high stiffness and the adjustable main and focal mirror mount keep the optical elements very well. The result is that GSO's Dobsons are very stable.
Set up and get started ... Dobsons from GSO are simple and solidly built, even as a beginner you have the telescope quickly under control. Within minutes, the device is ready for use.
The quality check ... We carry out regular tests in our company, so that a consistently high quality is guaranteed.
250mm or 10 "opening already show a lot in the sky:
For many star friends, the "Deep Sky Vision" starts at 10 "opening, and spiral arms of bright galaxies are as visible as fine structures in planetary mists.
But also in the area of the moon and planets, the GSD 250 C offers a considerable performance. The fine divisions of the Saturn rings are easily recognizable. On the surface of the planet Mars you will see many interesting structures, such as the large volcanoes or the swelling of the polar caps.
The GSD 250C is still very portable:
The unit is still comfortable to operate by one person. The weight is also limited. The tube also fits on the back seat of a normal car.
The quality of the picture
Not only the high-quality optics, but also the optimized mechanics are the prerequisite for a good image. The thin mudguards (See picture on the left) increase the contrast and sharpness.
The adjustment of the GSD 250C
The centering of objects, as well as the exact tracking, is done by hand in Dobson's telescopes. A precise and smooth adjustment must therefore be guaranteed. A spring ensures a controlled contact pressure. This ensures that the device does not change inadvertently when changing eyepieces.
The advantages of the ball - bearing Crayford extractor GSD 250 C
=> Much easier than many simple eyepieces Very sensitive adjustment => Incl. Adapter for 1,25 "accessories => Gentle clamping of the eyepieces by a clamping ring => Thanks to ball bearing shifting-free adjustment = more precise, sensitive focus. The observed object retains its position during the arming process, which is often impossible with simple extracts. In addition, the pull-out responds much more directly, completely without play, which makes the focus much easier.

The less diffraction phenomena, the more contrast - thin reflector struts increase the contrast in the moon and planets.
Good internal swelling of the tube
The tube is dyed in matt black. This results in a clean contrast and prevents unpleasant reflections. GSO Dobson 250mm aperture 1200mm focal length friction spring preload
Prevents unintentional adjustment during eyepiece change. An even contact pressure is ensured and allows a clean centering of the object. GSO Dobson 250mm aperture 1200mm focal length eyepiece eyepiece ball bearing Crayford 2 "extension
A clean 2 "eyepiece can be used for 2" and 1.25 "eyepieces.
