Products description

Omegon Dobson Telescope ProDob N 406/1850 DOB II TRUSS New
Item description:

Pro Dob 16": seeing stars and galaxies almost like a photo.

When the Whirlpool Galaxy appears as clearly as a photo in the eyepiece. When you see details. When globular clusters are resolved all the way to the center. Or when you even recognize colors in the Orion Nebula. Then you know: You will never give away the 16" Omegon Dobson telescope again.

Experience fantastic observations with this telescope that you can't even imagine with smaller telescopes.

The advantages at a glance:

Sensitive focus: 2" Crayford focuser with 1.25" adapter and 1:10 reduction ratio
Friction system: buttery smooth and precise movement
See details in galaxies: Collects 4 times more light than an 8" telescope
Needle bearing: smooth and precise movement in azimuth - even with only one finger
Main mirror - for brighter images: 94% Enhanced Coating
Cool down faster - observe faster: Fan for the primary mirror

Deluxe friction system
The new friction system makes accurate adjustment and tracking of celestial objects even easier. Instead of Teflon pads, the axes are equipped with needle bearings in the azimuth and with a ball bearing system in the elevation axis. This means that you now navigate the telescope more easily and it follows your movement butter smoothly in every direction. This is your benefit: Keep celestial objects in your field of view even at high magnification. An invaluable advantage! The friction can be adjusted comfortably via two hand rollers made of aluminum and adjusted to suit your needs.

Center of gravity more adjustable
Another advantage of the friction system: The center of gravity of the telescope is better adjustable. Especially if you use a heavy eyepiece: There it can quickly happen that the system is no longer balanced and tilts to one side.

New: Carbon grid tube system
The design of the 16" Omegon Dobson has been improved! Now benefit from the lattice tube system made of carbon rods in V-shape, as found on professional telescopes. This makes the telescope stable and torsion-resistant. Plus, besides looking cool, you can touch the carbon rods on cold nights without getting frostbite on your hands.

Assembly is this easy
Although the 16" Omegon Dobson is a large telescope, you can easily assemble and disassemble it at your observation site. To do so, the telescope consists of the catch basket, the main mirror tube and the grating tubes. A new mounting system holds the grating tubes in position, no tools are required. You can assemble the telescope within minutes. A telescope that you can easily transport in your car despite its size.

18-point mirror cell
The main mirror rests on an 18-point main mirror cell with triangularly mounted and movable elements. The advantage: the mirror is evenly supported and provides a perfect image in any position.

Main mirror with 94% reflection for bright images
A Dobsonian telescope is an expert for DeepSky observations. Lots of contrast, details and bright images belong to a very good telescope, like the stars to the sky. This is exactly what the parabolic primary mirror delivers. With the 94% "Enhanced Coating" (the coating of the mirror surface) you enjoy ultra-bright images. And with it, even DeepSky objects at the edge of perception are still yours.

Observe faster: Main Mirror Fan
Just a quiet unobtrusive hum, but a big effect: The integrated 12V fan ensures up to 50% faster cooling of the main mirror. This allows your telescope to reach optimal imaging quality faster. You don't have to wait any longer.

2" Crayford focuser
Use 1.25" or the large 2" eyepieces for wonderful overview observations. Thanks to the ball bearings, you'll focus your object smoothly as butter.

The Dobsonian advantage: easy and fast setup
What is the advantage of this type of construction? A Dobsonian telescope consists of only two parts. This means that you can set it up in a very short time. In addition, it is cheaper than a comparable telescope on a parallactic mount. The focus is on enjoying visual observation. Discover the sky: it is incredible what you can see with your own eyes.
