ASKAR FRA 400 72 mm f/5,6 Quintuplet-Astrograph

Sharpstar manufactures high quality telescopes for astrophotography. Selected telescopes are now available under ASKAR. Sharpstar pays a lot of attention to the optical, but also mechanical quality of these telescopes. FRA stands for Refractor Telescopes with integrated corrector element for a flat and corrected field of view. The FRA series is mainly used for astrophotography.

The ASKAR FRA400 is a 5-element Petzval apochromat with 400 mm focal length, f/5.6 and 72 mm aperture. There are 2 ED glasses built into the lens for good correction of chromatic aberration. The apo is corrected for cameras up to full frame.

The dew shield also provides good protection from stray light and is retractable. The large focuser holds even heavy cameras and allows clean focusing due to microfocusing. 2", 1.25" and a M68x1 thread are available for connections. Also included is an adapter to M48x0.75, which is ideal for all cameras with 55mm working distance.
 

A photo specialist, but also suitable for observation:

The ASKAR FRA400 was designed for astrophotography. However, due to the comfortable working distance, 2" zenith mirrors can also be connected. So the astrograph becomes a very nice spotting scope and telescope for astronomical observation and also landscape observation. All common 2" and 1.25" accessories can be connected.

Increase of the aperture to f/3.9

The focal ratio of f/5.6 is already relatively fast. But often one wishes for even faster optics. With the optional FRA72RD, you increase the speed from f/5.6 to f/3.9, halving the exposure time. The focal length shortens to 281 mm.
