Sky-Watcher's new top-of-the-line Esprit EDX telescopes with 3-element ED apochromatic optics are premium instruments of the highest quality with truly impressive performance, equal to or even superior to comparable telescopes from well-known high-end telescope brands.

Esprit EDX Super Apo Triplets were designed primarily for the discerning astrophotographer, but also as a fine telescope for the visual observer. The premium, superbly corrected optical system delivers detailed images with the highest contrast and imperceptible chromatic aberration, even on the brightest objects with exceptional contrast and sharpness.

The Esprit-70EDX is a new model in the range and is particularly compact yet full of performance. It features an exceptional f/7 optical system, including a premium lens made of Japanese Hoya FCD100 ED glass. Every glass-to-air surface has been coated with an exotic anti-reflective metal coating to achieve a maximum light transmission of 99.5%. Sky-Watcher's proprietary "Metallic High-Transmission Coating" (MHTC) is the highest-quality anti-reflective coating in its class!

The Esprit-70EDX does not include a rotating focuser, but a rotating adapter is installed on the drawtube to assist in framing the image. For added convenience, the telescope is equipped with a carrying handle. The extremely stable, CNC-machined dual-speed rack-and-pinion linear power focuser offers a high payload and zero backlash, and is equipped with a 2.8" drawtube with a scale. The telescope is delivered in a sturdy case with an aluminum frame and foam lining.

A matching 0.92x focal reducer/flattener (20332) is available for photography as an option.

The telescope is supplied without eyepieces, diagonal, or finderscope!
