Based on the fundamentals of the popular Evostar series of Doublet ED refractors, Sky-Watcher has developed the all-new Evolux ED series. It is designed for the demanding astrophotographer who wants a lightweight telescope with high performance. Of course, with their excellent performance, the Evolux ED models are also great for visual observing. The Evolux ED telescopes have been especially enhanced in important areas such as the optics and mechanics to make them perfect for use as a wide-field instrument to always have with you. The Evolux ED apochromats are the ideal mix of high quality, extremely low refractive index glass and their characteristics. Developed from a perfectly matched combination of optical glass including an ED glass element, the Doublet objective provides perfectly sharp star imaging against a raven black background with high contrast sky imaging while eliminating visually visible chromatic aberrations. All lens elements are coated with Sky-Watcher's advanced Metallic High-Transmission Coating (MHTC™), which is one of the highest quality multi-layer coatings in its class, providing up to 99.5% light transmission. The Evolux-62ED can also be used as a deluxe guiding telescope.

The Evolux-62ED comes in a foam-lined aluminum case and is equipped with a 2.4" dual-speed rack and pinion focuser and a tube clamp with Vixen standard prism rail. The dew cap slides in for easy transport. Optional for this telescope is a dual-lens 0.9x reducer / flattener which is equipped with an ED lens and comes with a rotator. This gives you an optimized, four-lens optical system with two ED lenses.
