SkyWatcher Skymax-90 on EQ1 90 / 1250mm Maksutov Cassegrain

These Skywatcher Maksutov telescopes are great for observation and photography. Due to their compact dimensions, these devices can be taken anywhere, for example on air travel. The length of the telescope is only 25cm! This device convinces with a very good sharpness and high contrast.

Observation:

Whether you are watching animals in the wild or the starry sky, the Black Line Maksutov convinced! The light gathering power from the given 90mm free aperture allows the observation of nebulae and galaxies. The image has no color aberration and thus enough contrast to view the moon and planets with great detail. In good visibility conditions can be increased up to 200 times.

A Maksutov is just perfect for the moon and planets. If you live in a polluted area and you do not have the opportunity to move to darker areas, you should definitely include this system in your considerations. If you can not see enough deep sky objects anyway, a telescope for the moon and planets (sun ONLY with a suitable filter) is considered. Even in light polluted areas, these objects will always be a worthwhile destination due to their brightness. Although bright deep sky objects are possible, the main focus will be on the moon and planets.

Enjoy beautiful lunar and detailed planet observations (like the rings of Saturn, moon shadow games on Jupiter or its big red spot) and also interesting deep-sky excursions to brighter objects, such as the Orion Nebula, the open binary star cluster (h and chi) in the Perseus or even the galaxy groups M81, not to mention the star cluster in the Hercules M 13!

Together with the bright and high-contrast image, here are beautiful details. Of course, the field of view is slightly smaller than short-range devices, but I do not need it on the moon and planets. Since the longer focal length is advantageous because you do not need additional Barlow lens for higher magnifications. This is used at very high magnifications, if the visibility conditions (low air movement, good transparency of the sky ...) allow it. (Bear in mind that every movement of air is magnified.) Since the moon reflects enough light, it will be used primarily to observe the craters and surface structures of our satellite.

The BKM 90 has a direct T2 connection. With a T2 ring you can fix your SLR camera directly. The connection of digital cameras is easily possible. The Star Max then serves as a high-quality telephoto lens with 1250mm focal length and an aperture ratio of f / 13.9.

For example, with this device you have a combination of optics and durable (and low-vibration) mount. Focusing is not a painful procedure and the image of the object is sharp and detailed. The tracking of the astronomical object to compensate for the earth's rotation is sensitive and intuitive with the flexible waves. The joy of watching and discovering is not clouded here!
If you later want more and buy a larger device, this combination will not lose any value for you. As a travel telescope or device for "fast-licking" (if you only want to look a short time) or for large-scale objects, for which you can not enlarge so high anyway, it will always come back into use.
