TS-Optics Megastar 1550 entry level telescope Newton 150/1400 on EQ3-1 mount

S-Optics Megastar 1550 - 150/1400mm Newtonian telescope on parallactic mount EQ3-1 a powerful telescope for beginners.
This telescope opens the door to successful observation of nebulae and galaxies. Where with smaller telescopes you could only get a slight hint of brightness, the Megastar 1550 already shows details and lets you guess more of the true nature of celestial objects.

♦ A lot of aperture for the money

♦ deep sky observation (nebulae, galaxies, star clusters ...)

♦ more stable due to short design.

More light for easier detection:

This powerful telescope provides you with the solid basis for successful astronomical observations beyond the solar system. 150 mm aperture already collects more than twice as much light as 100 mm aperture. Accordingly, you can see more.

The strength of the Megastar 1550 is beyond the solar system:

The Megastar 1550 is built for successful observation of faint celestial objects. At the same time, the telescope is very compact. The compact design is achieved by a lens in the optical path.

The advantage is the compact design, which is also necessary for mechanical stability. However, for moon and planets this lens interferes and reduces the performance of the instrument somewhat compared to a telescope of the same aperture without a lens.

Therefore, the Megastar is a telescope for astronomers who are looking for a powerful telescope for nebulae, star clusters and galaxies and do not want to spend twice as much for a conventional Newtonian of the same aperture.

Observations with the Megastar 1550:

Although the Megastar 1550 is better suited for nebulae, star clusters and galaxies, it also shows some detail in our solar system. The performance in this area is about comparable to that of a good Newton with 114 mm aperture and 900 mm focal length.

Are colors recognizable?

Basically, colors are reserved for photography, but through the large aperture you can already guess how colorful the universe is. For example, set the well-known double star Albireo in the swan. If you look closely at these two points of light at medium magnification, you will see that the brighter part shines in a warm hue, while the fainter part shimmers in a cold blue.

Photography:

The Megastar 1550 is also ready for your first steps toward astrophotography. With the Fotoring T2 or the Digiklemme 1 (see recommended accessories) you bring your camera to the instrument. Moon and planets can be photographed this way.

EQ3-1 - a solid mount forms the basis:

The EQ3-1 is a solid mount and provides a reasonable base for the telescope.

The mount already offers a very professional equipment like:

♦ Pole heights fine adjustment for an accurate setup.
♦ mount separable from the tripod
♦ well dimensioned field tripod
♦ manual fine adjustment via flexible shafts
♦ motorized tracking can be retrofitted
(see "recommended accessories")

The 1.25" focuser:

This part is especially important on a telescope, this is where the eyepieces that are used to determine magnification are put in and this is also used to focus. The Megastar 1550 already has a 1.25" focuser. This means that many additional parts are available for later tasks.

A comprehensive accessories package is included:

Only with the right accessories can you fully exploit the possibilities of the telescope. The Megastar 1550 impresses with an extensive accessories package:

♦ 1.25" Plössl eyepiece with 25 mm focal length for 56x (overview)
♦ 1.25" Plössl eyepiece with 6.5 mm focal length for 215x (maximum magnification)
♦ 2x Barlow lens for doubling the magnification
♦ 1.5x inverted lens for Earth observation (straightens the image)
♦ 6x30 optical viewfinder
