TS-PHOTON / GSO 6" f/4 Advanced Newtonian Telescope with Carbon Tube

The PHOTON Newtonian reflector with 154 mm aperture and focal ratio f/4 is a fast travel telescope for astrophotography and observation.

♦ Aperture 154 mm (6") - Focal length 600 mm - Focal ratio F4

♦ High-quality parabolic primary mirror with 94% specularity for a brighter image.

♦ Large secondary mirror for good illumination with astro and DSLR cameras.

♦ Precise 2" MONORAIL focuser for more stability than conventional Crayford focusers.

♦ Carbon tube for more stability and better transport at the same time - Made in Germany!

♦ Optimal internal blackening due to TS anti-reflective paint.

♦ Adjustable main and secondary mirror mount made of metal, practical adjustment aid on the main mirror.

♦ With only 53 cm length and approx. 5 kg weight, an optimal travel telescope, which can even be mounted on good photo tripods.

♦ Focus position for observation with all common eyepieces and prepared for astrophotography.

♦ Central marking on the main mirror for easy adjustment available.

♦ Extensive scope of delivery: 8x50 finder, tube clamps, universal prism rail, 2" extension tube for observation, adapter for 1.25" eyepieces.

♦ Pictures show the version with metal tube. The carbon tube is made in Germany and has no logo.

TS-PHOTON 154/600mm Advanced Newtonian with carbon tube for astrophotography and observation.
Astrophotography is easy with this compact Newtonian from the TS-PHOTON series. This astrograph offers you pure light intensity due to the focal ratio of f/4 and therefore short exposure times. Of course, with the TS SUPERFLAT we also offer you the suitable coma corrector. This turns this PHOTON Newtonian into a very good astrograph.

This Photon Newton is with about 5 kg weight and only 53 cm length an ideal travel telescope. For large field observations you can even mount the telescope on a good photo tripod. The prism rail offers you the matching 1/4" tripod thread at the base.

Of course, the best place for the Rich-Field-Newton is on a good astronomical mount, like the EQ3-2 from Skywatcher or a good GoTo mount. Then nothing stands in the way of a fulfilling astronomical observing session.

The advantages of the carbon tube:
The TS-PHOTON Newtonian comes with a high quality carbon tube. Besides the weight advantage of about 0.5 kilograms, the main advantage is the better stability of the focus during temperature changes. This is important for astrophotography. When temperatures drop, metal contracts and the focus wanders. A readjustment of the focus is necessary. The combination of tube and mirror makes it hardly necessary to readjust the focus, even with long exposures. The images become sharper.

Berger anti-reflective paint for best possible internal blackening:

This PHOTON Newtonian uses Berger anti-reflective paint. It darkens the tube interior just as well as velor film. The big advantage besides a lower weight is that the paint hardly attracts dust. The optics remain clean. With velor film, dust accumulates very quickly on the main mirror.

The figure on the left shows how dark the anti-reflective paint is. The diagram (figure above) shows the direct comparison of Schultafellack / Berger anti-reflective paint.

General info and features of the TS-PHOTON Newtonian telescopes:

♦ Bright parabolic optics with excellent contrast and very good sharpness for planetary and deep sky observing.
♦ High-quality 2" MONORAIL focuser with 1:10 micro-reduction for 2" and 1.25" accessories.
♦ Focal point position ideal for DSLR and other cameras e.g. in conjunction with the TSGPU corrector.
♦ All common 1.25" and 2" eyepieces can be used without any problems.
♦ Brighter image due to forced 94% mirroring on main and secondary mirror.
♦ Motorized focus can be retrofitted at any time.
♦ A 0.5 mm thin stainless steel secondary provides stability. Astrophotographers will envy you for the gossamer and sharp spikes around bright stars.
♦ Adjustable main mirror mount and secondary mirror mount made entirely of metal.
