TS-Photon / GSO 8 "200mm f / 5 Advanced Newton Telescope Optical Tube - 2" Crayford Focuser

Newton reflector telescope with 8 "aperture and 1000 mm focal length with quality optics from GSO for observation and astrophotography

♦ Opening 200 mm / focal length 1000 mm / F5
♦ High-quality parabolic main mirror with 94% forced reflection for a brighter, high-contrast image
♦ Large sized secondary mirror with 63 mm small axis - a very good illumination for astrophotography
♦ Main mirror frame and catch mirror frame made of metal - no plastic - fully adjustable (picture of secondary mirror holder - left)
♦ Precise 2 "Crayford focuser with 1:10 micro reduction for accurate focusing
♦ Main mirror ventilation for faster cooling. If the fan were turned over and the edge was covered, the effect would be more effective.
♦ Stable steel tube instead of soft aluminum tube - ensures better alignment stability

There are not only alternators in the car! :-)
Newton telescopes are considered (and are) basically high-powered telescopes. From f / 5 I define again as particularly bright. When observing the moon, we definitely recommend a filter to reduce the glare effect. - The moon reflects so much light that the light should be attenuated (especially at low magnification). Also note the dark adaptation of the eye. For example, if I want to observe deep sky objects after the moon, the adaptation of the eye takes a certain amount of time before I can perceive the much fainter ones again in detail.

And that brings us to the objects that such a Newton can show in abundance - visually and photographically!
Deep sky objects (ie galaxies, nebulae, star clusters ...) do not require a high magnification, but a corresponding light gathering power. For photography, this also means the shortest possible exposure time for a shot.
Planets (and moon) require a higher magnification and thus a Barlow lens ???? for focal length extension.
So with this device also beautiful details on the moon and planets can be seen! So you do not have to do without this field of application: An (almost) all-rounder among the telescopes focusing on deep sky.

Newton Telescope from GSO are known worldwide for very good optics. In our experience, mirror telescopes from GSO are among the best telescopes in this price range. Due to the very sharp diffraction-limited main mirror and the excellent stable mechanical processing, this Newton telescope is our recommendation for astrophotography and also for visual observation of the star sky.

This GSO Newton is one of the top recommendations of Telescope Service. This telescope offers features that are unlikely to be found elsewhere in this combination:

♦ sharp-drawing optics with an above-average picture quality
♦ 94% reflection on the main and secondary mirrors for a brighter, high-contrast image
♦ large sized secondary mirror with 63 mm small axis for good illumination
♦ 70mm optional rearview mirror for full format cameras
♦ Sturdy steel tube instead of soft aluminum tube for better adjustment stability
♦ 2 "Crayford Extender with 1:10 micro reduction - ring clamp of 2" and 1.25 "accessories
♦ Main mirror base and solid metal mirror base - both brackets are fully adjustable
♦ enough focus distance to use all commercially available coma correctors
♦ Carbontubus for retrofitting - for ultimate transport

Why do we recommend a Newton from GSO over all other comparable Newtons:

♦ We do not know any other telescope in this class with comparable applications and expansion options. Be it the astrophotographic use or observation.
♦ We even offer a carbon tube kit if you want to make a lightweight telescope from the telescope later.
♦ Accessories for astrophotography and observation are easy to adapt without having to rebuild the telescope.

The exact 2 "Crayford focuser with 1:10 micro-reduction:

For this Newtone telescope we offer the 2 "-Crayford focuser with integrated 1:10 micro reduction This excerpt works even with heavy accessories such as astro cameras very well With some experience you can achieve adjustment accuracy of 0.08 mm, which also sufficient for very high-resolution sensors.

The drawer is fully compatible with the optional TS motor focus system. An engine takes over the focusing. This makes possible an absolutely jitter-free and precise focusing for observation and photography.

Main mirror ventilation for faster cooling:
The main mirror carrier is made of optical homogeneous and stress-free BK7. To achieve rapid cooling, the main mirror is equipped with a fan. Thus, comparable cooling times are achieved to significantly more expensive glass materials. The support of the main mirror has no influence on the quality of the picture.

Parabolic main mirror:
GSO is known worldwide for a very high production quality of the optical elements. The Newton primary mirrors from the BK7 optical glass are free of distortion and offer a picture that is usually significantly better than diffraction-limited. The surface is coated with a 94% forced silver coating and a quartz protective layer. The main mirror has a central marking as adjusting help.
