Meade telescope AC 60/800 EclipseView

Item Description:

The EclipseView telescopes are light and uncomplicated. They are ideal for a quick look at our solar system: moon, planets and sun!

The sun may only be observed with optical instruments that are specially equipped for it! The accessories for the EclipseView telescopes already contain everything you need for a safe observation of the sun: Put the ISO-certified sun filter with its precisely fitting socket on the front end of the telescope. It ensures that only a tiny fraction of solar radiation gets into the instrument. With this "white light filter" the photosphere of the sun can be observed. The photosphere shows fascinatingly structured sunspots, the number of which changes in an eleven-year cycle: The view of the sun is never the same!
The enclosed sun finder helps to point the telescope towards the sun.

The sun is going down, it is night: Remove the sun filter and replace it with the red dot finder. With this viewfinder, it is very easy to set the moon and planets. With your EclipseView telescope you can observe craters on the moon, the phases of Venus, Jupiter with its moons and the rings of Saturn. Even bright nebulae, like the Orion Nebula, are within the range of these telescopes.

The AC 60/800 optic is a popular entry-level device, because the night sky can already be explored with an objective lens with a diameter of 60 millimeters. With this instrument you can see significantly more stars than with the naked eye and can wonderfully overlook the famous Orion Nebula or the Andromeda Galaxy with your companions. The small opening ratio ensures a pure color look. So you can look at the moon and the planets without annoying color fringing.

Lens telescopes like this are also particularly suitable for children, because the deep eyepiece view at the telescope end can be reached without a ladder. In addition, the operation is very intuitive and no adjustment has to be made. A telescope for beginners and the whole family!

Mount AZ-1: This mount is very popular with beginners in astronomy because it is very easy to use. The entire telescope can be easily moved in azimuth and height. For you as a beginner, this has the advantage that you do not have to worry about aligning the telescope beforehand. Setting up the telescope is therefore very quick and easy: set up the tripod with the mount, hang the telescope and off you go!

The EclipseView series was launched by Meade specifically for the total solar eclipse on August 21, 2017, which was very visible in North America. Partial, ring-shaped or fatal solar eclipses are not uncommon globally. For example, there will be three solar eclipses and a Mercury transit in 2019. The light EclipseView telescopes fit in your luggage: make a solar eclipse your holiday destination!
