In this combination, the stability of the mount is just borderline sufficient. If a slightly shaky combination of mount and telescope does not bother you, it would still be okay as you get a very compact and portable system.

XLT coating: Thanks to this multilayer anti-reflection coating, the Celestron lenses have a particularly high light transmission. In the particularly important wavelength range around 500nm up to 10% more light is brought into the eyepiece. Especially here, the human eye is also very sensitive.
The focus: It is done by adjusting the main mirror on a large grippy knurled head. This kind of focusing brings very great benefits. The adaptation of different accessories is not a problem. Whether you want to take pictures (see picture) or connect a binocular, you will never have problems with focusing. Almost every accessory has its focus with the NexStar 4.
Ingenious help for the exact arrangement of astrophotography:
- Wedge-Align - in parallactic mode - no Polsucher needed!
- After calibrating the mount via Sky Align, go to Wedge Align.
- The telescope moves to the position where the pole star would have to be in the telescope
- Simply center the pole star with the azimuth and height adjustment of the pole height cradle and the device is already well positioned.

The pile height cradle is optional: In contrast to the smaller units of the SE series, the pile height cradle is not built into the stand, this has to do with the stability. In the section "recommended accessories" you will find the direct link to the pile height cradle. A pile height cradle only makes sense for use in the field of astrophotography - long-term exposure. For all other ranges, also for exposures up to approx. 30 seconds, the azimuthal assembly is sufficient.

Sky Align is the name of Celestron's brand new alignment process. It is especially easy to use.

Step 1 ... Simply enter the date, time and location in the manual control box.
Step 2 ... Take the telescope to three bright stars (Moon / planets are also possible) You do not even need to know the three calibration objects, just put them in the middle.
And done - your NexStar is ready for observation. With relatively quiet
Servo motors drives the device to the objects that you want to observe.
