TS-Optics 6 "f / 12 Cassegrain telescope 154/1848 mm OTA

The TS 6 "f / 12 Cassegrain telescope with quartz glass mirror with only 33% shading is a good alternative to a Schmidt Cassegrain. This Cassegrain mirror telescope therefore comes without the Schmidt plate.
Cassegrain telescopes combine the advantages of a Newtonian telescope as a pure mirror system with a short design. Cassegrain telescopes are mainly used for photography of the moon and planets and for the observation of astronomical objects. Thanks to very sensitive sensors in astro cameras, even photography of nebulae, star clusters and galaxies is possible.

It is a pure reflection system without a Schmidt plate, which means that infrared photography with full focus is also possible. Without the plate, it cools down much faster than with the SC due to its open design.

It has a brighter image due to 99% dielectric mirroring on the main and secondary mirrors and the fixed main mirror also prevents mirror shifting when focusing.

It is used as:

Mobile travel telescope: ... compact and light telescope for vacation and travel, because you can unscrew the focuser in a few simple steps. The Cassegrain even fits in your hand luggage.

Telescope for the observation of astronomical objects: Due to the high-contrast image and the large corrected and illuminated image field, the Cassegrain is well suited for the observation of astronomical objects. 2 "and 1.25" accessories can be used. The shadow from the secondary mirror is approx. 33%. However, the 99% reflection of the main and secondary mirrors makes the image much brighter.

Telescope for astrophotography: The Cassegrain is also suitable for photography of the moon and planets. The contrast of the picture is quite high. The stray light is effectively suppressed by the inner panels. Planets and also small lunar craters are displayed clearly and without color errors. The sensitive Crayford pull-out allows sensitive focusing due to its micro reduction. Thanks to modern and highly sensitive CMOS sensors, even deep sky photography with the TS-Optics Cassegrain is within reach. An additional corrector lens is not required because the image field has been corrected well beyond the APS-C format.
