Sky-Watcher's new, top-of-the-line ESPRIT EDX 3-element ED apochromatic refractors are premium instruments of the highest quality, offering truly stunning optical performance that rivals or even surpasses comparable telescopes from even the most well-known high-end brands.
ESPRIT EDX Super Apo Triplets were designed primarily for demanding astrophotographers, but are also ideal for visual observation. Their high-quality, superbly corrected optical systems deliver high-contrast, detailed images with no noticeable color fringing, even on the brightest objects, ensuring exceptional contrast and sharpness.
The ESPRIT 70EDX is a new addition to the series and a compact, full-frame telescope. It features an outstanding f/7 optical system with a high-quality Japanese Hoya FCD100 ED glass lens element. Each air-to-glass lens surface is coated with an exotic anti-reflective metal coating to ensure optimal light transmission of nearly 99.5%! Sky-Watcher's proprietary Metallic High-Transmission Coatings (MHTC) are the best-in-class photonic anti-reflective coatings!
The ESPRIT 70EDX does not have a rotating main focuser, but instead features a rotating adapter on the focuser's drawtube, making image composition easier. A carrying handle provides additional comfort. The rugged, CNC-machined, two-speed, rack-and-pinion linear focuser offers high payload capacity and zero image shift, as well as a 2.8-inch indexing drawtube. It is packaged in a foam-lined, aluminum-framed storage/carrying case.
An optically matched 0.92x focal reducer/flattener (code 20332) is available as an optional imaging accessory.
