Experience and recordings with ACUTER Elite Phoenix 40 H-alpha solar telescope
Hello Mr. Kloß,
My Acuter Elite Phoenix arrived on Saturday.
Everything was perfect. It arrived superbly packaged, the sun finder was precisely adjusted, and the telescope was already set for optimal imaging performance.
Thanks to the team.
Contrary to expectations when you get a new telescope, the weather was
perfect on Saturday and Sunday with pure sunshine.
I quickly set it up in the living room on Saturday afternoon and saw "first light"
through the glass pane. This already far exceeded my expectations.
(The image was "much" better than with my PST or PST conversion.)
On Sunday, I set it up in the garden and used the one-hour window for photographic "first light." A high-contrast, evenly lit image with an incredible amount of detail. Simply brilliant and dreamy.
An absolute visual and photographic delight. No sweet spot, evenly lit image, the sun's surface, filaments, and prominences at a glance.
Conclusion: A top-notch device with excellent value for money. Compact and handy
with incredible image quality. I find the telescope's workmanship
to be very good.
The OAZ can be adjusted so precisely that a 1:10 reduction gear is essentially unnecessary.
The diagonal mirror and zoom eyepiece don't seem to be of high quality, but initially
they absolutely serve their purpose.
Attached is a photo from yesterday – edited quickly and dirty.
The Acuter's capabilities are pretty impressive.
