For a project, a Skywatcher Skymax127 needs to be remotely controlled using a motorized focuser.
After removing the rubber cap of the focuser knob, the metal sleeve is exposed, which we need for the further steps.
Rubber is used to print a gear that will later transmit the power of the timing belt to the focuser.
A base plate is also made.
On top of this comes an adapter plate with magnets that will hold the motor. This is still the MkI version, the new one has a modified guide.
The motor is put on. Before criticism comes now: the gear wheel on the motor still has to be attached. Here the coupling for the other focusers is still attached.
The total assembly (with modified gear wheel).
