Omegon Radiant Reflex finder - battery cable broken

The illumination unit of an Omegon Radiant finder stopped working.
After opening the battery compartment, it became clear that the cause must be the loose cable from the battery holder to the LED.
We stripped the cable, used heat shrink tubing, fired up the soldering iron, and soldered the cable – and the finder was back on.
