Prototype of an Astrograph - Part 3 (Newton Telescope)
The components, which were constructed in the second part of the series, are printed in the meantime.
The components were mounted to our 200PDS and tested on the artificial star:
- the collimation is much much easier than on the first prototype, it is even fun to adjust
- the imaging is optimal thanks to the built-in coma corrector
- the resolution is excellent
Still found problems:
- we need some kind of washer for the pressure screws. This was already clear to us during the construction, but we are still looking for an efficient solution
- the curved holding spider is stable, but not yet stable enough.
The new prototype MkIII is already in print...
To be continued...
