150 mm (6 in) f/8 ED Apochromatic Refractor Telescope

The Evostar-150ED apochromatic doublet refractor telescope has received some exciting improvements. We are pleased to introduce the new EVOSTAR-150EDX model, the result of several extremely useful mechanical improvements. Finished in its stunning new white and green livery, the EVOSTAR-150EDX, along with the necessary accessories, presents itself as an excellent instrument for imaging and visual applications.
The new EVOSTAR-150EDX model now features an enlarged 3-inch focusing tube with an integrated 360° rotating adapter, a retractable dew shield, and a top accessory rail that doubles as a carrying handle. Also included as standard are a pair of solid anodized aluminum tube rings and a 75 mm dovetail bar.
The lens features the same outstanding, proprietary, f/8-adjusted optics as the previous model, including an ED glass lens element that virtually eliminates chromatic aberration. An optional 0.77x optically matched focal length reducer/field flattener (code 20333) is available for imaging.
The optics deliver razor-sharp stars with deep, black, high-contrast skies. Each air-to-glass lens surface is coated with exotic anti-reflective metal coatings to ensure optimal light transmission of nearly 99.5%! Sky-Watcher's proprietary Metallic High-Transmission Coatings (MHTC) are the highest-quality photonic anti-reflection coatings in their class.
Apochromatic refractors produce the sharpest, highest-quality optical images available at any aperture, thanks to their unobstructed, textbook-like diffraction patterns, which no other optical telescope system can match.

Evostar ED doublets have long been the preferred imaging refractors of many astrophotographers due to their outstanding imaging performance and affordable price. Due to their lower glass content, they are also generally significantly lighter and more manageable than a comparable triplet or other multi-piece ED refractors.
