PegasusAstro Pocket Powerbox Advance Gen3 – Universal Power Supply
The Pocket Powerbox Advance Gen3 is the all-in-one solution for power and connectivity in mobile astrophotography setups. Building on the success of its predecessor, the Gen3 offers a powerful combination of intelligent power distribution, USB 3 connectivity, and integrated device control within an ultra-compact aluminum housing. It features four individually switchable 12V DC outputs, a dedicated always-on 12V output, and an adjustable 3–19V DC output capable of delivering up to 3A to power mini-computers, DSLR cameras, or other electronic devices.

Reliable connectivity is ensured by an integrated 6-port USB hub (4× USB 3.0 + 2× USB 2.0) with USB Power Delivery (PD) support, as well as built-in control for a motorized focuser.

This power box also includes two PWM outputs for dew heaters featuring AutoDew technology, an external temperature and humidity sensor, comprehensive voltage, current, and power monitoring, Wi-Fi connectivity with an integrated web dashboard, and full compatibility with ASCOM 7 and ASCOM Alpaca.

Equipped with protection against reverse polarity, overvoltage, voltage spikes, and electrostatic discharge (ESD), the Generation 3 model delivers the performance, flexibility, and reliability required for modern astrophotography systems.

6 x Power Outputs
Four independently switchable 12V DC outputs allow you to control your entire astrophotography setup via Pegasus Astro software, ASCOM, Alpaca, or the built-in web interface. Each output features reverse polarity and overcurrent protection for reliable operation. An always-on 12V output and a software-adjustable 3–19V output bring the total number of power ports to six.

Power Sensors
Includes integrated voltage, current, and power meters that continuously monitor your power supply and total system consumption in real time. You can instantly view input voltage, total current draw, and individual port power usage via Pegasus Astro software, ASCOM/Alpaca drivers, or the built-in web dashboard. This enables you to monitor your equipment's power requirements, quickly detect unusual consumption levels, and ensure stable operation throughout your imaging sessions.

Environmental Sensors
The PPB ADV Gen3 comes with an external temperature and humidity sensor, enabling precise, real-time environmental monitoring. When used with the integrated dew heater outputs, the device can automatically adjust heating power based on environmental conditions—preventing dew and moisture buildup on your telescope optics while minimizing unnecessary power consumption. An active USB 3 hub located on the rear of the unit provides:

The new SuperSpeed ​​hub operates in parallel with the USB 2.0 controller, ensuring that 5 Gbps SuperSpeed ​​data transfers are not affected by slower USB 2.0 traffic.

The USB ports deliver up to 3 A of power and are all equipped with overvoltage and ESD protection. Each USB port can be independently enabled or disabled via software.

One USB-C port offers a PD output (up to 3 A) for supported devices.

Integrated Stepper Motor Controller
The PPB ADV Gen3 features an integrated stepper motor controller for focusing, eliminating the need for a separate external focus controller and reducing cable clutter.

It is compatible with most bipolar stepper motors (we recommend the Pegasus "Motor Focus Kit Universal" or "Motor Focus Kit Zero" for SCT telescopes). It enables smooth, precise, and repeatable electronic focusing with up to 1.5 A per phase. Requiring only an external motor, it offers a significantly more cost-effective focusing solution while allowing you to control both power distribution and focusing through the same Pegasus Astro software interface.

The device is fully integrated into the Pegasus Astro software ecosystem, ASCOM, and ASCOM Alpaca, and supports autofocus routines in popular astrophotography applications, enabling you to achieve and maintain precise focus throughout your imaging session. Key Feature: Standalone "Out-of-the-Box" Operation
The Pocket Powerbox Advance is ready to use immediately and functions as a standalone device. Simply connect the cables and configure the "Auto-Dew" function; your settings will load automatically every time the device restarts. This means you do not need to connect to a PC unless you want to. It’s that simple!
